Park Lane Astro Is Now Open

Our new astro pitch at Park Lane is open, with a selection of our underage teams already training and playing on it, and visiting coaches and parents are impressed. Our senior men host Dublin University there on Friday under lights.
It's here. Our new astro pitch at Park Lane is officially open, and the first Skerries Town teams have already pulled on their boots and put it to the test.
First teams on the new surface
Last week, a selection of our underage boys' and girls' teams trained on the pitch for the first time, and some played their first matches on it over the weekend. The smiles on the sideline said it all. After the long wait and the building work, it was brilliant to see the pitch full of young players.
Visiting teams were quick to notice it too. Coaches and parents from our opposition clubs over the weekend had plenty of praise for the pitch, with many commenting on how good the surface is and what a great facility Skerries Town now has.
Over the next few weeks, every team in the club will get the chance to train and play on it, from our youngest age groups to our seniors.

Seniors up next: Friday 16 October
The pitch also hosts its first big senior occasion this week. Our men's senior team are at home to Dublin University in the FAI Intermediate Cup on Friday 16 October, kick-off 7.45pm at Park Lane. Entry is payable at the gate.
Come down, bring the family and help us give the team a proper welcome on the new surface.
"It's lovely to see the pitch in use and to hear such good feedback from visiting teams. It's a credit to everyone who worked so hard to deliver it, and I'm looking forward to seeing every team in the club enjoy it." Martin Tully, Skerries Town FC Chairman
Thank you
This didn't happen by itself. A huge thank you to every member of the committee and all the volunteers who gave their time, energy and effort to get the pitch over the line. The club is lucky to have you.
Help us finish the job
The astro is only part of the plan. Clubhouse upgrades are still to come, and our Buy a Brick campaign is an easy way to contribute directly to the club's facilities. You can read more about the project in our earlier article, Building A Vibrant Home For Skerries Town.
We'll keep you posted as the rest of the programme rolls out.
