Privacy Policy

Your Privacy Matters
At Skerries Town FC, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information across skerriestownfc.ie — including when you contact us, take part in our Buy-a-Brick Campaign, or make a donation.
Who we are
Skerries Town FC, based at Park Lane, The Haven, Skerries, Co. Dublin, Ireland. For any privacy questions, please get in touch via our Contact page.
Information we collect
Contacting us: if you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), and your message.
Buy-a-Brick Campaign and donations: when you purchase a brick or donate, we may collect your name (or the name you choose to display on your brick), email address, phone number (if provided), payment information (processed securely through Stripe), your personalised brick message, and any additional information you choose to provide.
Pitchside Advertising enquiries: if you use the enquiry form on our Pitchside Advertising page, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any message you provide, so we can respond about sponsorship opportunities.
Membership and Club Lotto: both are handled entirely by our membership partner, Clubforce, at skerriestownfc.clubforce.com. Any information you provide when signing up for membership or entering the Club Lotto is collected and processed by Clubforce under their own privacy policy — not by Skerries Town FC directly.
How we use your information
We use the information above to: respond to messages sent through our contact form; process brick purchases and donations; create and install personalised bricks; communicate with you about your purchase and the Buy-a-Brick campaign; respond to Pitchside Advertising sponsorship enquiries; send updates about the Park Lane redevelopment if you opt in; display your name on the "Wall of Fame" and "Virtual Wall" unless you choose to remain anonymous; and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Public display of information
When you purchase a brick, your name (or the name you provide) will be displayed publicly on our "Wall of Fame" at Park Lane and on the "Virtual Wall" on our website, as part of recognising your support. If you prefer to remain anonymous, select the "anonymous" option at checkout — your name won't be displayed publicly, though we may still use it internally for processing and record-keeping. Even if you choose anonymity, a personalised brick message may still be visible on the wall without being linked to your name.
Payment information
All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card details on our servers. Stripe handles payment data under PCI DSS standards and its own privacy policy — when you're redirected to Stripe to pay, Stripe's own cookies and privacy terms apply to that part of the process, separately from this site.
Cookies
Our own website (skerriestownfc.ie) does not currently set any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that counts page visits without using cookies or identifying individual visitors. We may in future use strictly necessary cookies purely to make the site work (for example, remembering a form in progress) — these don't require your consent under Irish law, but we'll always update this section if that changes. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we'll ask for your consent first, in line with Irish and EU rules.
If you click through to pay via Stripe or to sign up for membership via Clubforce, those are separate websites with their own cookies and privacy policies, which we don't control.
Data storage and security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to people who need it to process your purchase, donation, or enquiry. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and while we work to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We only share it: with service providers who help us run the site and process payments (Stripe), handle membership (Clubforce), or provide website analytics (Cloudflare); when required by law; or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our supporters.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected — for example, Buy-a-Brick and donation records for our accounting and campaign records, and contact form messages only as long as needed to deal with your query. If you'd like more detail on how long we hold specific information, please ask via the Contact page.
Children's information
Where a parent or guardian provides a child's name for a brick, or registers a child for membership via Clubforce, we rely on that parent or guardian's consent, as described above and in the Terms & Conditions. For how we handle child welfare and safeguarding information more broadly, see our Child Safeguarding Statement and Child Welfare & Safeguarding Policy on our Policies page.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal and operational requirements)
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Withdraw consent for data processing where applicable
To exercise these rights, contact us via our Contact page.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date.
